MHT CET 2027 December Attempt Cancelled? What Students Need to Know

The proposed December 2026 attempt of MHT CET 2027 has reportedly been rescheduled. According to recent news reports, both attempts are expected to take place after the Class 12 board examinations, between March and May 2027. However, students should wait for the final schedule from the Maharashtra State CET Cell before treating the new dates as confirmed.

Is the MHT CET 2027 December Attempt Cancelled?

The planned December 2026 attempt of MHT CET 2027 has reportedly been dropped as part of a schedule change by Maharashtra's higher and technical education department. The revised plan is to conduct both attempts after the Class 12 board examinations.

The reported change follows concerns that a December examination would place additional pressure on students preparing for their board exams. The revised arrangement is intended to give students more time to prepare for both examinations. The exact dates, application schedule and detailed timetable must still be checked against the official CET Cell notification.

MHT CET 2027 New Exam Schedule: What Has Changed?

OGcollege Insight: These are reported schedule changes, not a substitute for the final examination timetable. Candidates should not book travel or make major preparation decisions based only on tentative dates.

Why Was the December Attempt Reportedly Rescheduled?

The proposed December attempt raised concerns among students, parents and education counsellors because it would take place close to the Class 12 board examination preparation period.

Moving both attempts until after the board examinations could give students more time to revise the HSC syllabus and prepare specifically for MHT CET. It may also help students organise their preparation without having to balance a December entrance examination alongside board preparation. The final examination calendar will determine how much time students have between their board exams and each CET attempt.

Will MHT CET 2027 Still Have Two Attempts?

According to recent reports, the two-attempt format is expected to continue, with both attempts scheduled after the Class 12 board examinations. Students should prepare to use both opportunities if the format is confirmed. Multiple attempts can give candidates another chance to improve their performance, but the final rules on score calculation and admission will depend on the official information bulletin. Do not assume that the better score will automatically be used for every admission-related purpose until the CET Cell confirms the applicable policy.

Final Verdict

The December 2026 MHT CET 2027 attempt has reportedly been rescheduled, with both attempts now expected after the Class 12 board examinations between March and May 2027.
