MCC NEET UG Stray Vacancy Round 2026: Registration, Dates & Seat Matrix

The MCC NEET UG Stray Vacancy Round 2026 will be conducted after Round 3 for eligible vacant MBBS, BDS and applicable UG medical/dental seats under MCC counselling. According to the current MCC schedule, registration and fee payment will run from October 12 to October 14, choice filling from October 12 to October 15, the stray vacancy result on October 17 and reporting from October 19 to October 26, 2026.

The final stray-round seat matrix is important because it will show the seats actually available for choice filling. Students should rely on the latest matrix published by MCC, rather than assuming that every Round 3 vacant seat will remain available.

Students should not treat the Round 3 clear vacancy list as the final stray-round matrix. The final choices should be made only after MCC publishes the stray-round seat availability.

Documents to Keep Ready

OGcollege Insight: The exact documentation requirements should be checked against the latest MCC instructions and allotted institute requirements.

What If You Do Not Get a Seat?

Not getting a seat in the stray round does not necessarily mean your medical admission journey is over. Students should separately monitor state counselling authorities and any counselling opportunities for which they remain eligible.

OGcollege Insight: MCC counselling and state counselling are separate processes, so students should track both when eligible.

Common Mistakes in MCC Stray Vacancy Round

The biggest mistake is treating the stray round as a normal extension of Round 3. It is a separate stage with its own timeline and eligibility requirements.

Talk to a Senior Before Making Your Final College Choice

The stray vacancy round can be stressful because students may have to make a final college decision within a short window. Before locking choices, students can use OGcollege Talk to Seniors to discuss practical questions about medical colleges, academics, hostel life, clinical exposure, patient load and the actual student experience. A senior's perspective can be especially useful when two colleges look similar on paper but differ significantly in day-to-day student life.

Final Verdict

The MCC NEET UG Stray Vacancy Round 2026 is the next major opportunity after Round 3 for candidates seeking eligible vacant MBBS and BDS seats through MCC counselling. The key dates are October 12–14 for registration, October 12–15 for choice filling, October 17 for the result and October 19–26 for reporting.

The most important thing candidates should remember is that the final stray-round seat matrix has to be checked when MCC publishes it. The current MCC website is still showing Round 3 vacancy documents rather than a dedicated 2026 stray matrix. Students should therefore avoid copying old choices or assuming that every Round 3 vacancy will remain available. Build the final list only after checking the latest MCC matrix, fees, college preference and eligibility.
